l named sewn, folded and stuffed painted material carpets.

The carpets showed me a way to compress my paintings.

I was looking for that since I had come across a certain sensation

on great comic pages very often: The individual drawings

have been joined together and reduced in size which leads

to high density.

I wanted that mode for my work as well. I transfer

this compression to the carpets, for example by folding away

painted pictorial material to the back. The drawing is thus

pushed together in a more or less regular way an then these

bulges arise like in downsized down jackets.
